STCP guarantees more buses for the lighting inauguration in Porto.

This Saturday, November 29th, the city of Porto will once again be illuminated with the inauguration of the Christmas lights. The celebrations begin in Praça do General Humberto Delgado with the Christmas tree, accompanied by a videomapping show with the theme "Mission Nutcrackers, Christmas Arrives in the City" and a concert by the artist Mariza.

This Saturday, November 29th, the city of Porto will once again be illuminated with the inauguration of the Christmas lights. The celebrations begin in Praça do General Humberto Delgado with the Christmas tree, accompanied by a videomapping show with the theme "Mission Nutcrackers, Christmas Arrives in the City" and a concert by the artist Mariza.

To accompany this celebration and facilitate everyone's travel, STCP has prepared a special operation, guaranteeing more buses, greater capacity, and increased frequencies on the main access routes to downtown Porto.

Increased frequencies

Between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM: Lines

  • (Castelo do Queijo - Cordoaria), 600 (Maia - Trindade) and 702 (Travagem - Bolhão): departures every 10 minutes;
  • 700 (Valongo – Bolhão): departures every 20 minutes in the return direction.
Between 7:00 PM and 9:30 PM:
Lines 200, 600 and 700 will have increased trips in the return direction, with frequencies adjusted to demand. Line 702 will have extended service until 9:30 PM.

Capacity reinforcement

To ensure more comfortable journeys, higher-capacity vehicles will be put into operation on lines 200, 600, 700, 702, 305 (Cordoaria – Hospital S. João), 502 (Bolhão – Matosinhos), 801 (Cordoaria – S. Pedro da Cova).
STCP invites everyone to experience the Christmas spirit safely and comfortably, prioritizing public transport during these times of high demand.

Special Terminations

On Saturday, STCP lines will have exceptional terminations at the following times: Locations: Line 207 will alternate its terminus between Cordoaria and Rua Alexandre Herculano.
